Time – Movement | Adrienne Ranson

This is what I did. I drove to Wrights Water Gardens. I obtained a map of the gardens from the shop. I walked around, through, up and down, repeating circuits upon the paths available.

I looked, I saw blues and greens and the gold of fishes, patterns and shapes repeated in reflected spaces, the sky up there also down here, the surface of the water, knowing, naming, negating.

At home I took pieces of photos, the map, memory of the beat of the foot, the blues and greens and gold of fishes and composed, rearranged, chopped and shifted until I arrived at a painted drawing I liked, enough.

Then again with a photograph of this drawing I digitally reversed and reflected tones.

Finally I painted again and again and again. Five times. This is it. Perception-image, action image and affection-image.
